OB People’s Deli

This is the best place to get groceries in California. First of all, the other day I arrived late and close to closing. I was flustered, but, not one, but two employees helped me carry my boxes out to the car! (But try to remember to bring your usable bags). I felt taken care of, and they all had such a warm and chipper attitude! love being a member. There are some hidden gems sold here. The stuffing is killer, the produce is almost too fresh! The tea isle and fresh tea is superb. If you’re a supplement person- check this place out. You’ll find all your replacements (natural>chemicals). Although I’m pressed for time and wish I could order delivery - they get 5/5 home run!!

I’ve been going here since I was a child in the 70’s when everyone pitched in with a few moments of work. It was a house and it was nice. Now it’s larger and still really nice. There is an upstairs deli/salad bar/bakery with an outdoor patio with tables and chairs. Healthy produce and groceries are downstairs along with really cool and helpful staff. Bring your empty water bottles and fill them inside. Bring your empty containers and jars and fill them with a huge array of bulk items and herbs.

I grew up in OB shopping at People’s. I don’t know if years in SF have just changed my perspective but I found the store to be just ok on a recent trip "home." It feels way too small and limited in product availability and choice. But what is there is good. And the staff seemed nice.

They have everything I could want. Mostly sustainable, fresh, and clean. Their prepared food on the second floor is always good. They have a ton of vegan sweets, I’ve never had anything I didn’t like yet.

Love being a member of this Organic Market! Used to love them for the plant starts! Hope they have them this Spring! Also getting my herbs and things in bulk is a plus too!
